This dark wooden desk has two pedestal sections separated by a wide central kneehole. Three drawers run beneath the top, including a longer central drawer fitted with two ring pulls, while each pedestal stacks three additional drawers.
The fronts carry curved gold-toned handles and small keyholes. The top surrounds a broad brown writing surface, heavily marked and bordered by double dark and gold-toned linear decoration. Restrained mouldings pick out the edges and the plinth bases with cut-out feet. The desk stands on an old plank floor among softly blurred chairs, a chest of drawers and a fireplace.
