The child raises the right hand and holds a small pale scroll in the other. The woman supports the child with one arm and directs her other hand towards the smaller figure. Partly worn painted signs appear at the left and around the small halo. Cracks, abrasions, losses in the gold ground and a worn red border cover the rectangular panel with rounded corners, displayed on a small wooden easel in a softly blurred shop.
