Dark wooden chest with domed lid and riveted ironwork

This rectangular chest has a domed lid assembled from broad boards of dark wood. Three metal straps follow the curve of the lid and continue toward the front, where iron uprights divide the face into panels. At the centre, a large rounded lock plate carries a small keyhole box connected to the lid by a vertical hasp. The near-black brown wood is covered with scratches and pale worn areas that reveal its grain. The hammered metalwork is secured by many round rivets, and a ring handle is visible on the left side. The chest stands on large uneven stone slabs. Behind it, shallow focus reveals stone walls and arches, a window to the left, dark furniture and several vessels.
